Personal Training
Personal Training sessions offer a wealth of benefits, including faster progress towards specific goals, injury prevention, cross and sport-specific training, as well as providing variety and/or enhancing the benefits of existing class-based sessions.
But whatever your reasons and goals, there’s nothing like being able to benefit from your Trainer’s complete and undivided attention, and your own totally personalised workout.
For 55 minutes you are one-on-one with an experienced Trainer, who will work with you to help you define and achieve your optimal results.
For beginners
It’s a great start to your Dynamic Pilates experience; a more individually-focused introduction to the workout, helping you become comfortable with the use of the equipment faster, and enabling you to see the resulting improvements in conditioning and posture all the sooner.
You'll be expertly guided in the use of the Reformer, and you'll develop the correct techniques, learning how to activate your core stabilising muscles properly and finding yourself using muscles that you never thought you had.
The individual attention means that you'll quickly become familiar with the Reformer and the techniques, helping you feel more confident as and when you're ready to join the group classes.
Off-Reformer training
A programme based around cardio or weight training makes a great way to complement your Reformer classes, and helps ensure your workouts remain interesting and challenging. Cross training is an excellent way to maintain motivation and improve all-round fitness.
Sports-specific training
Whatever your sport, it's a great way to build the functional flexibility and core stability that can help to protect your body against injury. Whether you're into triathlons, rugby, football, tennis, or just off for a week's skiing, a few Personal Training sessions can be a really effective way to prepare your body to resist the stresses and strains of your chosen sport, and to perform better.
Cross training
There are a number of advantages to having a cross training element in your programme.
By varying the load and stress on specific muscle groups and the cardiovascular system it helps reduce the risk of injury. It's also great way to condition different muscle groups, and to give your overall fitness levels a boost. Because the exercises are different, the recovery process is faster between one session and the next, so you can train more often. And last but definitely not least, building different forms of exercise into your routine is a really effective way to stop it becoming too, well, routine.
Injury Prevention/Prehab
Prehab – short for Prehabiltation - is a fit-for-life preventive maintenance approach to our bodies, designed to keep us stronger, healthier and functionally active for longer.
A relatively new approach that's increasingly adopted by athletes and health providers, it focuses on strengthening the muscles around vulnerable areas (hips, knees and ankles in runners, elbow and rotator cuff joints in tennis players, for example) and correcting postural instabilities. As a result, it can help prevent injuries from repeated wear and/or exertion before they actually occur, saving you the time, effort, expense, and not forgetting the pain, of recovery.
Often a few sessions with one of our trainers is often all you need to learn and begin to implement the habits and techniques that will help you enjoy your favourite sports and injuries and stay pain and injury - free for longer.
Postural Analysis
Part of your Personal Training programme, this free 10-20 minute session allows us to map your posture against where it should – and could – be, and to identify areas of weakness and potential injury.
A change is as good as a rest
If you'd like to add a bit of extra variety to your classes, feel you've hit a bit of a 'plateau' in your training, or are looking for a new way to push yourself and stay motivated, Personal Training could be the answer.
Your Trainer will asses your specific strengths and capabilities, to design and work with you through a custom workout on or off the Reformer that will get your heart rate up, your core rock solid and help you push past your old limits of flexibility, strength and endurance.
