Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation sessions are suitable for conditions of varying severity.
Whether you’re looking for help to make the transition from chronic injury or illness to full fitness, or to identify and combat the causes of a niggling muscular or postural injury – the kind that many of us live with for months or even years - our Trainers are amongst the most knowledgeable, experienced and skilled in London.
And whatever the cause, severity or stage of your injury or condition, the one-on-one attention means that your techniques and levels of effort are monitored constantly to ensure that everything you’re doing is helping rather than inadvertently aggravating the problem or injury.
Chronic injuries and conditions
At TenPT, we aim to make the recovery process as effective and speedy as possible, and create a seamless transition between therapy and exercise.
So wherever possible, we will liaise with your medical practitioner or therapist to make sure that we have all the relevant information that we need to help provide a strategy to combat your injury or condition, In addition, we can then feed back all session information (including your assessment results and performance), to your practitioner, along with any findings that my help speed your recovery.
Less severe musculoskeletal issues
Postural imbalances often occur slowly, often as a result of small, ‘everyday’ actions. Something as simple as the way you stand up, sit down or even which shoulder which you carry your bag on can all affect posture adversely, resulting in faulty movement patterns and eventually pain.
For these less severe, but more common (and as result, often more frustrating) injuries and issues, our specialists will find the route of the problem. They will then help combat this issue with a selection of techniques designed to release any tight muscles which may be causing the dysfunction, along with exercises to help support and strengthen the affected area.
In order to help you recover as speedily as possible, we also need to help you help yourself. So we'll teach you a series of simple but effective corrective exercise techniques that you can practice regularly and easily throughout your day, wherever you are.
Pre/Post Natal Exercise
Pregnancy and childbirth are a time of significant change for the body.
So at TenPT, we consider Pre and Post Natal exercise as a highly specific form of rehabilitation, designed to help your body respond and adapt to those changes.
The need to consider certain aspects of your health will evolve throughout the trimesters. We will create and guide you thorough a safe, personalised programme that will help you build and maintain your core stability, strength and overall fitness, whilst biomechanically retraining your muscles to respond to the changes your body is undergoing.
By helping them activate properly and in the correct sequence, you can cope more easily with the rigours of labour and childbirth, and the demands of the months to follow.
